Mexico ’86 – Art Poster

Created as part of the AVB Editions’ ‘Jumpers for Goalposts’ collection, I combined my love of information, design and football into a limited edition screenprinted artwork. Launched on the opening day of the 2014 World Cup Finals, ‘Jumpers for Goalposts’ showed 11 works from 11 artists around the theme of football… specifically football in our formative years. Mexico ’86 was the first World Cup I remember watching in it’s entirity (I have vague recollections from ’82) but it was also the last World Cup Finals that Northern Ireland qualified for! My work tells the story of the ’86 Finals using the just the plain and simple facts.
